Cyprideis similis (Brady 1869) Bold 1963
Cyprideis inermis — Bold 1964: 11, table II (as C. similis); C. similis — Martens & Behen 1994: 24; C. similis — Martens et al. 1998: 47; C. similis — USNM 2022: gbifID 1317311998, 1320996790, 1321496523.
Synonyms: Cytheridea similis Brady 1869 (Cythere similis in the description of the plate); Cyprideis inermis Klie 1939.
Type locality: no details of the type locality. Part of the material is deposited in the ZMK, CR–92a.
In Venezuela: in the following localities according to Bold (1964) and USNM (2022): ARAGUA and CARABOBO States—no location details, Lago de Valencia (GN 10º10’46” N, 67º43’52” W). ANZOÁTEGUI State —1971/USNM 137711, 137712, 137713, no location details, Laguna de Unare (GN 10°05’23” N, 65°19’15” W).
Remarks: geographical distribution includes Brazil, the Caribbean Islands, and Venezuela (Martens et al. 1998; Martens & Behen 1994). The material was recovered from recent sediments by Bold (1964). This author refers to the species both by its accepted nomenclature and by the synonym C. inermis Klie 1939.
