This present work has as its theme Museum of Maranhão Gastronomy: Perspectives, Implementation and Challenges in the 21st Century, whose main objective is to analyze the Museum of Maranhão Gastronomy, among characteristics, idealization and challenges in the area of the historic center of São Luís do Maranhão, as well as carry out a survey of the infrastructure and professionals who work in the gastronomy museum and verify the main characteristics that the museum addresses about Maranhão cuisine. The methodology used refers to an exploratory-descriptive, bibliographical and field research, with the use of specific methods, such as scripts for semi-structured interviews previously sent to tourism equipment professionals and forms for capturing data on the participation of the community and profile of visitors. As for the analyzes of the interviews, they were carried out through the transcription of recorded audios and forms with open and closed questions through the system of graphics generated by the Google Forms platform. The other results indicated the first owners of the colonial house 82 before becoming a gastronomy museum; that the museum is the only one managed by the municipal management; that the surrounding local community does not know about the museum institution despite its three years of operation and that its exhibition collection is based on the correlation of traditional festivals with Maranhão gastronomy.
