Driven by concerns about the level of cyber-security of public administration, many EU member states have banned the use of the TikTok application on the government-issued devices of public officials and members of the civil service. This chapter aims to present whether to implement the principles of the Polish Civil Service; it is necessary to ban social media on official devices for purposes other than performing their assigned tasks. In addition, the actions taken by EU countries over concerns about the TikTok application will be presented from the perspective of European aspirations for digital sovereignty.
