Efectos de la Telepresión y de la Sobrecarga de Trabajo en la Calidad del Sueño: Un Estudio Exploratorio en Teletrabajadores Españoles
Description
The COVID-19 pandemic caused a rapid implementation of teleworking in organizations worldwide, which generated a conflict between family and work life. At work, there has been a constant concern about addressing the messages we receive through information and communication technologies (ICT), called telepressure, in the workplace. Telepressure, that is, the constant concern to attend to messages received through ICT, can have negative consequences for the health and productivity of workers. This work aims to analyze the effects of telepressure and work overload in a convenience sample of 110 Spanish teleworkers. The results of the structural equation analysis show that telepressure partially influenced the recovery processes, with the influence of work overload on rest and insomnia problems being more pronounced. In practice, it is expected that these results will help professionals take into account the implications of this form of work, the stress it generates and its influence on rest, as well as the repercussions on the health and productivity of workers and, therefore hence in the productivity of the organization.
