IMPETUS D4.2: How citizen science data can help public institutions and civil society organisations make better local decisions
Description
IMPETUS is a Horizon Europe project which aims to enable and support citizen science initiatives. As part of that process, IMPETUS provides funding for citizen science initiatives and training, mentoring and support to enhance the impact of citizen science across Europe. WP4 focuses specifically on impact for policy. In this document, D4.2 Policy Brief 1, we set out how citizen science data can help public institutions and civil society organisations make better local decisions. This policy brief makes the case for the use of citizen science data by local decision makers in cities, municipalities, regional environment agencies and civil society organisations. It aims to foster the use of citizen science data to inform evidence-based policies and to promote dialogue between stakeholders at multiple levels to promote better data management standards and interoperability.
