Description

F. 4. Dorsal view of the right pectoral fin spine. (a) Pectoral fin spine with a smooth anterior margin, as present in adults of P. balayi, P. altipinnis, P. longiceps and P. pantherinus, and (usually) P. ahli; (b) pectoral fin spine with a coarsely serrated anterior margin, as present in adults of P. guttatus, P. punctatus, P. ngamensis and P. buettikoferi (scale=2 mm).
