Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) ranks among the prevalent endocrine disorders affecting women in their reproductive years. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), initially characterized by Stein and Leventhal in 1935, is a multifaceted disorder characterized by persistent anovulation resulting from hyperandrogenism, amenorrhea, or oligomenorrhea. (Stein & Leventhal, 1935). It is approximated to impact between 5% to 10% of women in the age group of reproductive years. (Ehrmann, 2005).
