Structural Health Monitoring of the Mooring System offloating wind turbines through satellite positioning

The mooring system is critical for the stability of a floating wind turbine (FOWT). Their sensorization and inspection is an extensive, complicated and expensive task.

MOORINGSENSE project aims at reducing operational costs (10-15%) and increasing efficiency (2-3%) based on affordable and reliable on-line monitoring technologies: a low cost and precise GNSS sensor, a Digital Twin (DT), a Structural Health Monitoring system (SHM) and control strategies.
