El paso sobre el límite Kantiano: Schiller y Hölderlin
Authors/Creators
Description
The essay discusses Schiller’s and Hölderlin’s attempts to cross the Kantian demarcation between sensuality and reason via the medium of artistic creation. Hölderlin criticizes Schiller, who stages the reconciliation between both aspects of experience as a mere artistic „game“ which disregards the historical reality. In contrast, Hölderlin’s demand to comprehend art as an historically effective, community-building insight not only requires a re-determination of the relation between reason an sensuality, but rather to regard both terms in a new way via the medium of poetry: In this sense, poetry joins subject an object, rational understanding and reality as a creative capability of an experience which constitutes and intensifies itself as an individual self within it’s historical relations with different forms and possibilities of experience.
