Female Masculinities: A Review Essay

Description

Pascoe's ethnography will be of immediate use as an accessible classroom text that vividly portrays teenaged American boys grooming a precious and precarious masculinity. Harris's book is a denser tome branching off from the Freudian tradition into a relational psychoanalysis influenced by contemporary gender theory, cognitive psychology, and philosophy to arrive at an original synthesis. Both books describe the formation of gender in their participants with significant insight.
