MOONS metrology system
Description
"MOONS is a new fiber-fed spectrograph for the VLT. Equipped with two triple-arm spectrographs MOONS will produce spectra for 1000 targets simultaneously. To ensure the accurate positioning of the 1000 fibers, a metrology system has been designed to provide position measurements within ~10 \u03bcm. This talk presents the updated design of the metrology system at the end of the final design phase."
