Description

Fig. 2. Proposed pathway for karanjin biosynthesis: chalcone backbone is first formed later to which via cytochromes or isoprenylation furan ring is incorporated. The values present in parentheses denote the spectral properties of the biosynthetic intermediates (λex or λabs/λem, expressed in nm), where λex, λabs and λem represent excitation wavelength, absorption maxima wavelength and emission maxima wavelength, respectively.
