Description
The Amlodipine Besylatewas selected for the preparation of novel in situ gel for its sustained drug delivery in eye. The intraocular penetration of Amlodipine Besylateis excellent because of its high lipid solubility, and it is thus very effective. In situ ocular gel of Amlodipine Besylate was prepared by using ion gelation method. where mucoadhesive polymer is Sodium Alginate and viscosity enhancing agents are HPMCK4M & In situ gel of Amlodipine Besylate showing good efficiency, satisfactory release of drug during diffusion study, lower cost of production and ease of preparation and necessary stability. Hence the ion gelation method was selected for the preparation of in situ ocular gel
