Description
Moitessieriids (Gastropoda: Moitessieriidae) from Rellinars (el Vallès Occidental, Catalonia, Spain). The moitessieriids from several springs and upwells in the municipal term of Rellinars (el Vallès Occidental, Catalonia, Spain) are described. From Fonts de Rellinars, a new species, Moitessieria punctata sp. nov., which is characterized by a teleoconch ornamentation constituted by conspicuous and well-defined pits; and a new monotypic genus, Baldufa fontinalis gen. et sp. nov., characterized by a short and robust shell with very few whorls, a teleoconch ornamentation constituted by very deep and tightly, spirally-arranged pits, and a protoconch ornamentation formed by irregular rugosities. From two upwells of Riera de Rellinars, other specimens that are similar to M. olleri Altimira, 1960 and, to a lesser degree, M. massoti Bourguignat, 1860 and M. mugae Corbella Alonso et al., 2006, further showing a varying presence of pits, are described, being attributed to M. aff. olleri.
