A fragment of the same.

This fragment of the باغ ارم, which is by mistake inserted in a copy of three mathnawîs by Sanâ’î (see No. 915 above), comprises fol. 93^b, l. 6, to fol. 116^a, l. 2 of the preceding copy.

First bait:

هر كجا فتنۀ شدی پیدا – بود چون فتنه در میان بر پا

Last bait:

هر كه او از خداى ترسان نيست

شك مياور درين كه انسان نيست

How the mistake of this insertion came about is easily explained. On fol. 1^a of the present MS. the name of Sanâ’î appears as Thanâ’î, and as the same error is sometimes committed with regard to the author of the باغ ارم (see the preceding copy), the transcriber of this copy must have assumed that all the various extracts collected in this volume belonged to one and the same poet.
