Description

Photoplethysmography (PPG) is a non-invasive method used to measure heart rate by utilizing light. On the other hand, Remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) is a cutting-edge technology that enables contactless monitoring of human cardiac activities. It achieves this by detecting the pulse-induced subtle color variations on the human skin surface using a multi-wavelength RGB camera. The system calculates the variance of red, green, and blue light reflection changes from the skin, which results from the contrast between specular reflection and diffused reflection.
