Application of Bibliometric Laws in Global Limnology Research Publications: A Scientometric Anaylsis Based on Web of Science 1989-2020
Description
This paper deals with the applications of various bibliometric laws in global limnology research publications based on web of science during 1989-2020. A total of 1499 papers were found from 402 journals. It is found that the mean growth rate is 0.16 and doubling time 7.74 years, the journal 'Hydrobiologia' ranked the top, findings does not fit Bradford's law, John P.Simol is the prolific author in Limnology, the analysis invalidate Lotka's law, Lake and Lakes are the important key words, the findings fit in Zipf's law. In addition the author's applied price's square root law and pareto principle. This study provides the dynamics of research activity and help in gauging the field of limnology. Further useful to scientists and information professionals in the field.
