SCIENTOMETRIC TOOLKITS OF THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY IN THE SYSTEM OF SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATIONS

The purpose of the article is to analyze the scientometric toolkits that are applied by the university library for the evaluation of scientific research of the teaching staff of the higher education establishment. Methodology of the research predicts the application of structural and institutional approaches to the scientific communication interpretation at the university as the totality of the professional communication’s types and kinds in the scientificeducational establishment, the transformation of the information from one group to another that characterizes social peculiarities of formal and non-formal interaction of the researchers in the frames of certain establishment or outside of it. Also in the article, an analytical method and a method of systematization of the material during the consideration of the scientometric toolkits were used for making tasks of the publication strategy integration and directions of publicity activity in the relevant information streams. Scientific novelty. In the article, for the first time, was considered the scientometric toolkits as an arsenal of the university library as a subject and provider in the system of scientific communications. Conclusions. It was emphasized that the academic library and its staff play an important role in the informative service of the university science, especially, the electronic institutional repository allows to provide openness and operational availability to any scientific research and free access to the scientific information influences the university rating and scientists themselves. It was proved that both with the management and curation of scientific data, support of electronic publications, accompaniment of open access repositories, its workers professionally use scientometric tools (counting the number of publications and citations, evaluation by journal level, citation indices, etc.) in higher education ranking systems, which allows calculating and comparing indicators of the scientific performance of higher education establishments according to their publication activity.
