Redefining Success in Cacao Farming: Stories of Farmers Taking the Lead in Quezon Province

  • 1. Southern Luzon State University

Description

As Quezon Province aspires to be one of the country’s emerging cacao hubs, it is Southern Luzon State University’s (SLSU) responsibility to partner with our local government and farmers to help achieve and realize this dream. To improve our province’s cacao industry, we should know the current state of our cacao yield, the quality of our cacao seedlings, beans, and products, and the current agricultural practices of our cacao farmers. Through the help of the Department of Agriculture - Philippine Rural Development Program (DA-PRDP), SLSU was able to craft a project with the aim of discovering Quezon Province’s promising and inspiring cacao farmers. Inspired by the example of the farmers, we share some of their stories, practices, and secrets to successful cacao farming in this coffee table book.
