Penerapan Undang-Undang Nomor 22 Tahun 2021 Tentang Minyak dan Gas Bumi Terhadap Pelaku Penambang Minyak Ilegal di Wilayah Hukum Kabupaten Aceh Timur

Explosions, fires, and casualties occurred from illegal oil mining in the East Aceh District. Article 52 of Law Number 22 of 2001 Concerning Oil and Gas prohibits exploration or exploitation of oil or gas without a cooperation contract, which is violated by this unlawful oil mining activity. The East Aceh District's judicial efforts to stop illegal oil mining operations have been ineffective. This is a result of factors related to law enforcement, government involvement, and general legal awareness. Law enforcement officials use a variety of strategies to combat illegal oil mining activities within the boundaries of East Aceh Regency, including more guidance, support for local government, socialization to the community, mindset shifts, social approaches, law enforcement, and the creation of regulations in the form of Aceh Qanun draft of 2022 concerning Oil and Gas Mining in Aceh.
