A REVIEW ON THE BOND BETWEEN FRP BARS AND CONCRETE

The main parameters that can influence the bond response between FRP bars and concrete, namely the embedded length, type of fiber, bar diameter, and bar surface, were studied through the analysis of a database gathered from experimental results of direct pullout tests taken from the existing literature. In addition to analyzing the above parameters, this database also allowed for studying the bond durability in acid, alkaline, saline, and moisture environments combined with elevated temperatures for different periods of exposure. Finally, the accuracy of existing formulations in predicting the bond strength was also assessed.
