Global biomethane and carbon dioxide removal potential through anaerobic digestion of waste biomass

These are datasets used to generate figures of paper  "Global biomethane and carbon dioxide removal potential through anaerobic digestion of waste biomass".

(1) Biomass_crop_residue_ton, Biomass_manure_ton, Biomass_organic_municipal_solid_waster_ton, Biomass_waste_water_pop_served are TIFF files reporting the geospatial map with biomass availability by feedstock (ton/year), including crop residue, manure, organic fraction of municipal solid waste, and waste water, in 10km resolution. *Please note that TIFF file of organic fraction of municipal solid waste is larger than other files because it was calculated and converted using 1km population density datasets. The highest data accuracy is guaranteed using this file.

(2) Fig. 2. Biogenic CDR from anaerobic digestion and Fig. S2. Bioenergy from biomethane are TIFF files reporting the biogenic CDR potential from anaerobic digestion (ton/year), bioenergy from biomethane (kWh/year).

(3) Fig. 3. data_biogenic_CDR_potential_from anaerobic digestion_by_country, Fig. 4. data_bioenergy_potential_by_country, Fig. 5. the share of biomethane in methane supply are csv files reporting the country-level biogenic CDR potential from anaerobic digestion (Mt), bioenergy potential from biomethane (TWh), the share of biomethane in methane supply for each country.

(4) Supplementary Dataset 1. Countries_27_larger_than_10p_emission_from_AD is csv files reporting the 27 countries which can offset over 10% of greenhouse gas emission from anaerobic digestion.
