Description
CompRanking alignment database version 1.1.
CompRanking is with a curated alignment database designed to support comparative analysis of antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) in various environments, including the plastic-associated microbiomes (the "Plastisphere"). This version (1.1) includes updated sequence alignments and annotations relevant to the study of ARGs across both biodegradable and nonbiodegradable microplastic environments.

In this study, we utilized the CompRanking database to benchmark and compare resistome profiles associated with different types of microplastics. The findings highlight the potential environmental risks posed by biodegradable plastics due to higher associations with ARGs, compared to conventional nonbiodegradable plastics.
