NON-LINEAR BEHAVIORS OF PULTRUDED GFRP COMPOSITES
Description
In this paper, the non-linear behaviors of pultruded glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) composites were experimentally investigated. In particular, GFRP short columns and GFRP bolted connections were focused, aiming to evaluate the progressive failure of material in the manner of compression and shear failure. The obtained experimental observations demonstrated that the continued end-section crushing and shear-out failure could lead to the non-linear behaviors of GFRPs after reaching their peak loads. The non-linear behaviors of GFRP composites may be of great value for meeting the design requirement for extreme loading conditions.
