The work presents the peculiarities of patriotic education of students in higher educational institutions in the People’s Republic of China. The purpose of patriotic education is characterized. It is formation of national feelings of youth, a sense of self-worth and pride for the country and people, formation of national ideals and self-sacrifice of youth, ensuring national security, protection of dignity and interests of the country and the nation, strengthening the national cohesion, promotion of national modernization, etc. The content of students’ patriotic education in the People’s Republic of China is revealed. It includes national and historical education, national education in the area of traditional culture, study of regional and national features of the country).
