FACTORS CAUSING CHANGES IN THE LEXICAL SYSTEM AND THE PHENOMENON OF ARCHAICIZATION

Authors/Creators

Description

This article provides information about archaisms that live in our dialects and accents. Our goal in conducting the research is to investigate the changes that the language has undergone throughout history, to compare and systematize dialects and archaisms. A comparison of the dialects and dialects of the Azerbaijani language with the language of all-Turkic writings of the 5th-7th centuries shows that most of the words in the language of these monuments are used in the spoken language of the living people and in our dialects, albeit with a slight phonetic change. Lexical archaisms are the survival of an object or event related to the concept expressed by the word, but either the word itself or its meaning has become obsolete. For example: atık [at + k, atığ, ati] - waist (in Russian лопатка), astıx [as + lık] earring (in Russian церги), ashti - peace, reconciliation (мир, перемирие), white - bread (хлебь) and so on. In phonetic archaisms, certain sounds become archaic in the phonetic shell of the word, but the concept, event, concept named by the word remains. Since V.V. Radlov compiled the dictionary "Опыт словаря тюркских наречий" at the end of the 19th century, it naturally contained a lot of phonetic archaisms. Many words beginning with the vowel i in the modern Azerbaijani language are listed with the vowel “ı” in the dictionary. For example: ikram = ikram - hospitality, offer, iktımal - possibility, Iktızar - attention, look. Export = export – expulsion, liberation. This word has become an economic term in modern literary language. In other words, an old word has acquired a new meaning. Inac = inac – faith, trust, etc
