Absolute Gravity Measurements at the base of the Grossglockner in the Austrian Alps in September 2021

This report contains the results of absolute gravity measurements carried out at the base of the Grossglockner in the central eastern Alps during the month of September 2021. The Grossglockner is the highest mountain in Austria with an altitude of 3798 m. Its eastern slope is covered by the Pasterze, which is the largest glacier in the eastern Alps.  It has a length of 8.4 km and undergoes a continuous and fast retreat due to climate change and global warming. The glacier lost half of its volume since 1851.
