Contribution to Standardization: Certifying the Security and Resilience of Supply Chain Services - CYRENE White Paper 2023

Description

This Whitepaper is related to the EU-funded project CYRENE, which aims at certifying the security and resilience of ICT-supported supply chain services towards the objectives set forth by the European Cybersecurity Act. The document serves as a basis for interaction between the project and selected standardization bodies. It focuses on project results that may be amenable to some form of standardization or otherwise leveraged by standardization bodies. The paper also includes a summary of the standards relevant to the project and discusses how the project takes them as input to its work and builds upon them.

The document also discusses the stages of standard development, which include the Proposal Stage, the Review Stage, the Approval Stage, and the Publication Stage. It poses several questions for the CYRENE project to consider before starting the process and the communication with the relevant standardization body.

The CYRENE project aims to create solid links and significantly affect several data protection and software standardization initiatives. It contributes to implementing EU cybersecurity strategies, including the EU Cyber Security Strategy and the Digital Agenda for Europe (DAE).

Notes

This policy brief is an outcome of the CYRENE. The project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program under grant agreement No 952690.
