Sizes of samples, necessary for an informative comparison of descriptors of leaf blade shape of Polygonum monspeliense Thiébaut ex Pers.

The determination of the minimum sizes of samples, necessary for an informative comparison of descriptors of leaf blade shape of Polygonum monspeliense Thiébaut ex Pers was carried out. Of the analyzed indicators, the elongation index is characterized by the greatest variability, the smallest – by the ratio of leaf blade width in its middle part to the maximum width. The minimum recommended sizes of sample, necessary for comparison the analyzed descriptors of leaf blade shape of P. monspeliense, increase in the following order: the ratio of leaf blade width in its middle part to the maximum width – numerical index of apex shape – numerical index of base shape – indicator of relative position of widest part – elongation index.
