PTN: A Target Enabling Package
Authors/Creators
Description
Pleiotrophin is a heparin binding growth factor that appears to play diversity roles in neurology, with evidence supporting a pro-synaptic neuronal survival promoting role, and countering evidence suggesting a role in augmenting microglial proliferation and neuroinflammatory response to toxic cytokines (evidence discussed below). The goal of this TEP is to provide the scientific community with high quality resources that may help validate, differentiate, and further investigate these roles of PTN in AD. The contents of this TEP include bioinformatic analysis, protein structural information and purified protein, and validated antibodies for PTN investigations. We hope these resources facilitate the efficiency and accuracy of future work in the field.
