REVIEW ON RECENT ADVANCES IN BOTANICALS IN ANTI-AGING FORMULATIONS

Human skin, like all other organs, undergoes chronological aging. In addition, unlike other organs, skin is in direct contact with the environment and therefore undergoes aging as a consequence of environmental damage. The primary environmental factor that causes human skin aging is UV irradiation from the sun. Oxidative stress and low-grade chronic inflammation stand out as key features of physiological skin ageing. Skin aging is a complex biological process influenced by a combination of endogenous or intrinsic and exogenous or extrinsic factors .Decreased levels of collagen is a primary cause for skin aging.
