Making The Taxonomic Effort: Data on Index Fungorum and IPNI new species and new combinations author gender

Data on plant and fungal names and new combinations extracted in 2018 from the International Plant Names Index (IPNI) and Index Fungorum (IF) on names published from 1931 onwards. The gender of the authors of the names and combinations have been assigned from another data set on Zenodo here:
