Description
School plays an important role in society, contributing to the development of character, personality, and technical skills of children and young people. This relevance that the school has also applies to Professional and Technological Education, which is responsible for transforming young people into skilled professionals, who will act in the labor market, in the most diverse areas in which society is divided. Given the emergence of new technologies, as well as the importance of Professional and Technological Education, it is important that these new technologies are implemented in the educational processes, improving the quality of education in Brazil. According to Foucault, there is a relationship between education as social control and the mechanisms of power, which act in the pedagogical processes. Considering the relevance of Professional and Technological Education for the formation and qualification of students in a country that presents constant changes, the present study aimed to propose a reflection on the Professional and Technological Education facing the new educational trends in Brazil through a Foucaultian perspective.
