Description
This article aimed to understand what are the educational actions developed for the inclusion and permanence of adolescents in a shelter situation in a Brazilian historical perspective and in interface with the context of the Covid-19 pandemic in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte/MG. Based on bibliographical studies, the process of institutionalization of adolescents in shelters within the Brazilian context and the socio-racial profile of these subjects are approached. Secondly, the results of the qualitative research carried out with five employees of shelters in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte are discussed, relating them to the racial and socio-historical context in which adolescents in shelters are inserted. From the reports, it is evident the school precariousness experienced by the adolescents, which was intensified in the face of the implemented remote teaching. In addition, the absence of public policies developed by the State and municipalities for the effective inclusion of the analyzed subjects who were already in a situation of isolation and social marginalization was highlighted. Remote education accentuated the inequalities experienced by adolescents in shelters, proving to be excluding the different social and racial realities that exist in Brazil.
