Coastal Area: An area opposite to mainstream consciousness

In the article, an attempt has been made to analyze how the place 'Kadapuram' (Coastal area) is marked in Malayalam literature based on the novels Chemmeen, Marakapile Theyyangal and Jeevithatinte Pustakam.  'Kadapuram' is not a dead place in these novels.  Kadapuram is positioned as a natural space that enables the social and cultural construction and reproduction of folk culture.  Kadapuram serves as a counterpoint to the sense of place created by the mainstream
