Manifesto for a responsible communication of science
Description
Peace is much more than the absence of violence. The Campus Gutenberg-CosmoCaixa 2022, held in September in Barcelona, was a unique opportunity to talk about how the communication of science can help generate a true culture for peace.
We know that science does not always encourage peace. And, when that happens, what should people who communicate science do? Do we keep quiet or do we let our audience know? Science communicators don’t always choose peace.
The Manifesto for responsible communication of science is the result of a debate on these ideas. We believe that science communication can become a tool to help eliminate inequality, injustice, poverty and other threats to peace. But to achieve this, we must take sides and take action.
