Relações entre Magia e Astrologia na Idade Média

This paper has the objective to describe briefly the historical trajectories of magic and astrology in the Middle Ages, highlighting mainly the reception of these doctrines within medieval religious orthodoxy, shown here through the views of authorities whose opinions were prevailing in the conception of the period on these fields. At the end of the article, there is a synthesis between the paths of magic and astrology, as well as to provide a brief methodological discussion about the field's historiography, intending to contribute for a better understanding on Western Esotericism and the intercourses between the disciplines here exposed, which occupied a relevant place in medieval culture.
