Description
This report gives a summary of the EMOFOR service. It reviews the action plan service implementation and provides mitigation actions.
The overall objective of the EMOFOR service is to provide met-ocean information to offshore operators, with a focus on current information for deepwater operators. The service will integrate information from EO data, in situ measurements and model simulations. The EMOFOR service will consist of three service modes, each of which will be activated according to the requirements from the customers:
• Hindcast mode (met-ocean statistics from model simulations and observations: in situ and remote sensing);
• Monitoring mode (real-time or near real time data from EO and in situ measurements);
• Forecasting mode (use of forecasting models).
The main characteristics of the service modes are summarised
