Gabriela Mistral, poetessa dell'educazione

Peter Mayo; Paolo Vittoria

Gabriela Mistral, “la maestra rural”, is an educator still little known in the international cultural landscape. Yet her story as a woman who, from the poorest rural contexts of Chile in the last century, built a political pedagogy in defense of the most fragile sectors: women, peasants, and indigenous people, should be more deeply explored and discussed. This article is therefore intended to contribute to pedagogical studies on an educator who went so far as to receive the Nobel Prize for Poetry, and who is an example for her commitment against inequality and marginalization.
