  • 1. Leibniz-Zentrum für Agrarlandschaftsforschung (ZALF)

Description

On December 13th, 2022, the BonaRes Centre organized a virtual workshop on research data management. The session was hosted by the BonaRes Repository coordinator, Maureen Fonji Atemkeng, who was accompanied/supported by the research data management group leader, Nikolai Svoboda, soil scientist Carsten Hoffman, geo-informatician Abraham Tula and Xenia Specka, the head of the data infrastructure working group in ZALF (Leibniz-Zentrum für Agrarlandschaftsforschung e.V.).

The workshop's objectives were to first explain the concepts of FAIR principles to participants, then to enlighten them on how to make data FAIR, to explain the simplified version of data publication workflow used by the BonaRes Centre, and to walk participants through the BonaRes Repository explaining how they could search and reuse data. A group work took place to allow participants to explore the repository, download, and evaluate a dataset in accordance with the FAIR principles.

Participants were asked at the end of the workshop if their workshop outcomes had been met. Eighty three (83%) percent of the participants felt that their workshop outcome was fulfilled, while 8% said it was met in some way and the remaining 8% stated it was strongly met.
