A study of the causes of underachievement in mathematics among seventh standard girls in primary schools of Bijapur

School Education is a foundation step in every individual's life. Quality and better education at the school level clarify the concepts of the subjects taught including mathematics which are abstract in nature. This learning is useful for the entire life. India is marching ahead toward becoming a developed nation. It needs well-informed and educated citizens which schools should rate as such. But the lack of quality teaching facilities in the schools mainly for mathematics teaching cause concerns. It is the duty of educators and educationists to know the reasons behind the underachievement so that quality education can be brought in. Minority institutes have their peculiar problem in their schools. The authors have tried to study the problems of underachievement in Urdu Medium Schools. The article presents the research report pertaining to the causes of under-achievement in mathematics.
