Scarab Beetles (Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae) Distributed In The Winter Wheat Fields Of The Western Azerbaijan

Description

Winter wheat sown areas located in the western regions of Azerbaijan have been selected as fixed places. During the researches 7 species belonging to 2 subgenus, 7 genus, 4 tribes, 4 subfamilies of Scarabaeidae family have been encountered. Blitopertha nigripennis (Reitter, 1888) and Gymnopleurus mopsus (Pallas, 1781) types have been recorded for the first time in the fauna of Azerbaijan. 6 species out of the determined 7 scarab beetles are polyphage and 1 is caprophage. A.austriaca Herbst. B.leucaspis Cast., O.cinctella Shcaum. and B.nigripennis Reitt. are widely spread in winter wheat sown areas and cause heavy damage.
