The distribution, reserves, antimicrobial and antifungal properties of some species belonging to the Asteraceae Dumort family have been studied in the Shamakhy and Ismailly regions. It has been established that in the studied areas annual possible billets for Arctium lappa are 7.4 and 13.0, respectively for Xeranthemum cylindraceum - 4.7 and 1.8, Echinops sphaeocephalus - 2.3 and 2.3, Chondrilla juncea - 13.1 and 28.0 tonnes. The antimicrobial activity of extracts obtained from the plants A. lappa and X. cylindraceum was detected in relation to Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Candida albicans, as well as antifungal activity of extracts from C. juncea and E. sphaerocephalus plants was observed in relation to the cultures of Aspergillus niger and Fusarum oxysporium fungi.
