Description

Within the framework of the research project ‘Climate change integration in the multilevel governance of Italy and Austria: policy-making and implementation in selected subnational policies’ (Research Südtirol 2019), financed by the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, this document presents a collection of best practices, i.e. a non-exhaustive list of examples concerning how the subnational governments analyzed, the two Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano and the two Austrian Länder of Vorarlberg and Tyrol, have successfully managed to mainstream climate change considerations in subnational and local policies, plans, and initiatives. The practices regard the selected policy fields of transport, energy and water and spatial planning, as well as cross-cutting policy fields such as, climate protection, environmental protection and sustainability.
