BEST PRACTICES IN ACADEMIC LIBRARIES: WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO NAAC ACCREDITATION
Description
Today's librarianship is evolving and multidisciplinary, with rich information sources available in print and online to support the user community's learning, teaching, research, and extension activities in a networked environment. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has truly empowered and motivated librarians, and they now play an important role in IQAC and RUSA activities at universities and colleges, serving as Director-IQAC, NAAC Coordinator, RUSA Coordinator, NSS and IT Coordinators, among other positions. An effort has been made in this context to highlight the critical role of the librarian(s) in the NAAC process. It discusses the necessity of librarians in NAAC as well as best practices.
