Taxonomic observations on Monorthochaeta (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) in Ukraine, and biological notes on M. nigra

Two species of egg parasitoids of the trichogrammatine genus Monorthochaeta Blood, 1923 are recorded in Ukraine: M. nigra Blood and M. galatica Nowicki. Monorthochaeta adanaensis Doğanlar, 2002 syn. n. is considered a junior synonym of M. nigra Blood, 1923. The ovipositing behavior, egg and larva of M. nigra, a parasitoid of eggs of tortoise beetles (Cassidinae), were studied. Despite differences in habitus on intervals after oviposition, only one larval instar with variable body shape and length is reported for M. nigra.
