Description
MARS is ECMWF's (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) Meteorological Archival and Retrieval System. This manual describes the MARS facilities for the retrieval of data from ECMWF's operational and other archives. MARS also provides an interface to the Cray on-line Fields Data Base (FDB), which contains data from the current forecast and most recent analysis cycles, and any retrieval request which can be met from the FDB will result automatically in MARS accessing the FDB.
