DESIGN AND IN-VITRO EVALUATION OF SUBLINGUAL TABLETS OF ZOLPIDEM TARTRATE

Description

The sublingual tablets of zolpidem were prepared by direct compression method using Ludiflash, Prosolv HD 90, and F-melt with varying concentrations. The developed sublingual tablets were evaluated for pre-compression and post-compression parameters. The results of all formulations were found within the pharmacopeia limits. The optimized formulation (F9) with F-melt (25%) showed the maximum percentage of drug release was 98.79% in 30 min and used for short-term treatment of insomnia. The disintegration time, drug content, wetting time, and water absorption studies were evaluated for all the formulations.
