Description
The study aims to compare the scientific impact of two factors, Open Access publishing and international collaboration, on research publications in the Engineering subject domain. The study is limited to comparing the citations received by the publications by Indian authors in Engineering subjects published between 2011 and 2020 as indexed in the WoS database. A total of 1,14,736 bibliographic records with at least one author with Indian affiliation are studied. The global open access publication has a higher rate than the Indian authored open access publications. The study evaluated the impact of the research publications based on the citations received by the publications. Year-wise trend analysis is conducted for factors like open access, internationally collaborated and internationally collaborated open access publications. The final comparison was based on the Citation per paper achieved for the publications retrieved according to the different factors as a parameter. The result showed that internationally collaborated open access publications have a significant citation advantage over other factors.
