CYBER ATTACK SIMULATION AGAINST THE ELECTRICAL POWER AND ENERGY SYSTEM (EPES) PART OF SDN MICROSENSE PROJECT

Contemporary intrusion detection mechanisms related to EPES should be capable of monitoring the overall infrastructure as well as each asset, including both electrical-related and IT-related assets. For this purpose, the task has been focused on creating and providing isolated sandboxing environments (real and virtual) where the security level of new equipment (IEDs) and information systems (including SDN-microSENSE tools) can be analysed prior to their deployment in order to validate and improve the effectiveness of the detection tools.
